Some days, work can feel overwhelming.Â
Sometimes it isn't the workload that wears us down. It's the constant conversations, interruptions, and the feeling of being pulled in a dozen different directions at once.
Many people turn to amethyst during these moments because it is traditionally associated with calm, clarity, and emotional balance. Whether you see crystals as spiritual companions or simply as meaningful reminders to pause and reset, holding a piece of amethyst can become a small ritual that helps you step back, quiet the mental chatter, and reconnect with your own thoughts.
Here's an easy ritual you can do almost anywhere. All you need is a piece of amethyst or your favourite amethyst jewelry and a few quiet moments to yourself.
A Simple Amethyst Ritual
Step 1
Sit comfortably in your chair with both feet resting on the floor. Hold your amethyst in your hand beneath your desk or simply rest it in your lap where it feels comfortable.
Step 2
Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose. Exhale gently, making your out-breath just a little longer than your inhale. Repeat this several times, allowing your shoulders to relax and the tension in your body to soften.
Step 3
As your breathing settles, imagine a soft violet light surrounding your head and shoulders. Picture it as a gentle cloud, a comforting blanket, or a protective bubble. There is no right or wrong way to imagine it. Simply choose whatever image brings you a sense of calm.
Step 4
When you feel ready, quietly repeat these words to yourself as many times as you need: What is not mine, I now release. It leaves my body, bringing peace.
Step 5
With each slow breath, imagine the worries, stress, and mental clutter of the day becoming lighter. Picture them drifting away from you until your mind feels quieter and your thoughts become clearer.
Step 6
Before opening your eyes, spend a moment noticing the amethyst in your hand. Feel its weight, its smooth surface, or its texture. Let it become a reminder of the calm and clarity you want to carry with you for the rest of your day.
Take one final deep breath, open your eyes, and return to your work feeling a little more centred than when you began.
