This is a unique piece of Brazilian Amethyst that is gorgeous! 
 
Your crystal has been cut to a flat beautiful shape and highly polished on both sides.  On the side edges, you can experience nooks and crannies that are polished but are certainly fully of character.  It is a deeply rich purple (natural) with lighter bandings in angular shapes.  You will also discover white patches on the sides here and there.  There is a lot of striking beauty in this crystal. 
 
I've taken some photos outside so you can really see the way different lighting changes your gemstone.  It's intense and dark in natural light and then just shines with a rich purple in others.  You can really see the way the patterns are inside of your crystal and the surface changes.  It has such a soothing feel to it.

Your crystal measures 1 1/4 inches tall by over 1 inch wide.  The depth, with the unique edges, is 1/4 inches.    I've used sterling silver wire to create a generational piece that you can hand down as you can always clean the wire.
